Website eco-design.
This page explains how the website www.lesjardinsdelacite.fr is designed to limit its environmental footprint. It follows the structure of the eco-design statement proposed by the French General Framework for the Eco-design of Digital Services (RGESN, 2024 version), published by Arcep and Arcom with ADEME, DINUM, CNIL and Inria. The website has not yet been fully assessed against all of the framework's criteria: we describe here what is in place and what remains to be done.
1. What this website is for
Presenting the agency, its projects and its approach, and enabling public buyers and companies to entrust us with a project. It has no user accounts, no shop and no client area.
2. What is in place
- Static pages: no content management system and no database; the server sends files that are already built.
- No third-party services: no audience measurement, no advertising, and no fonts, maps or video players loaded from another server.
- WebP images, available in several sizes so that each screen downloads the smallest one that is sufficient, and loaded only as they come into view.
- Four font files, hosted on our own server.
- Compressed, cached files: one year for styles, scripts and fonts, six months for images and videos.
- The homepage video does not start in data-saver mode or with the “reduce motion” setting, and pauses as soon as it leaves the screen.
- The contact form reaches us by email: no data is stored in a database.
3. How much our pages weigh
Data transferred once the page has been fully scrolled, measured in October 2026.
| Page | Computer | Requests | Mobile |
|---|---|---|---|
| CSR approach | 413 KB | 20 | 413 KB |
| A project page | 1.4 MB | 27 | 1.6 MB |
| Projects | 1.7 MB | 55 | 4.4 MB |
| Home | 4.4 MB | 42 | 3.9 MB |
The counter on our CSR approach page shows, live, the weight of the page you are viewing.
4. Known limitations
- The homepage video still accounts for most of that page's weight.
- The Projects page presents 38 illustrated projects: it is the heaviest page of the website on mobile.
- Several sections are animated as you scroll; your device's “reduce motion” setting turns them off.
5. Hosting
The website is hosted by OVHcloud, on servers located in the European Union.
6. Next steps
- Carry out a full self-assessment of the website against the RGESN and publish the result on this page.
- Measure page weight again every year and after every major change.
